Awareness of sleep apnoea continues to grow. Promoting and supporting treatment can still be challenging, however. Non-treatment or low compliance poses serious health risks and pushes up costs. Good adherence management has been proven to significantly improve patient outcomes. Studies¹ show, for instance, that non-adherence rates among patients who enrolled in the LISA® adherence management programme reduced dropped from 18.9% to 12.8% in only six months.
Excellence in care
Committed to excellence in homecare sleep therapies, LISA® can help medical professionals ensure continuity and efficiency of the care pathway for improved patient outcomes through its proactive adherence management programme. Adherence ultimately lessens the burden on patients and healthcare providers.
Our level of involvement varies from country to country, ranging from the provision of equipment to active patient engagement in a home setting or one of our care centres. LISA® offers a wide range of masks, accessories and devices from the world’s leading suppliers. As part of our commitment to excellence, we carefully test and evaluate these for functionality, safety, usability and maintainability using our own benchmarks at our own Innovation and Development Centre. We also proactively monitor device performance and liaise with prescribing doctors through our industry-leading Adherence Portal.
We understand the patient benefits of CPAP treatment and how care support can positively influence patient compliance2. LISA® support services include:
Individual advice and education for the patients and family members on all aspects of the therapy
Safety and maintenance information.
Patient forum meetings and involvement in patient associations.
Compliance control and information to the physician via our Adherence Portal. If there are issues with compliance, LISA® can take any necessary actions to help the patient.
In many countries, we run care centres to supplement patient education, support technical staff, shorten information flow channels, improve routines and generally create an open and friendly environment for the patients.
What the patients have to say
A survey conducted in October 2008 by the Patients Organisation Group in the Netherlands confirms the importance of care support. It investigated the experiences of patients using Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) equipment as part of their sleep therapy. It also explored differences in treatment and approaches towards patients by homecare providers. Almost 5,700 patient responses were analysed. Care providers were also rated. Linde Healthcare’s service quality level was widely recognised and Linde Healthcare was awarded the highest and the most consistent rankings across key aspects of patient care.
