When using your CPAP device for the first time, you may feel an unusual sensation of pressure on exhaling: this is quite normal. Take a few deep breaths to help you get used to it. You will continue to breathe normally while you sleep. However, should this sensation persist, do not hesitate to contact/consult your care centre, LISA® specialist or physician.
Adjusting your mask
The air generator provides optimal treatment when the mask is properly adjusted and comfortable. Treatment can be affected by leaks, so it is important to avoid/eliminate these.
Before putting on your mask, wash your face to remove any excess sebum. This precaution helps ensure your mask fits as well as possible and extends the life of the cushion. Follow the hygiene recommendations for looking after your mask, making sure in particular to wash your hands before handling your mask.
If you find it difficult to adjust your mask to a comfortable position, contact your LISA® specialist.
